4 Bible Verses about Worrying

All of us are guilty of worrying at some point, especially me. It’s comforting to know that we serve a God who is willing to take on all of our anxieties. All we need to do is trust Him enough to hand them over. Here are some verses that help me:

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” Matthew‬ ‭6:34‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jesus tells us as plain as can be not to worry about our future. Today’s trouble is enough for today. Worrying about your future will get you nowhere. Focus on what’s currently happening and what you can change!

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”

If this isn’t reason to lift up your hands and praise, I don’t know what is! I think all of us are searching for peace of mind in our own ways, but Jesus has already given it to us. All we have to do is surrender our lives to Him. Notice how He says the peace He gives is a gift the world cannot give. Worldly peace is fleeting. Here one minute, gone the next. In Jesus, we have everlasting peace.

““And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?” Matthew‬ ‭6:28-30‬ NLT

Now this verse got me through college. I didn’t have money for nice clothes. I worked 40 hours a week to pay my bills, and I usually didn’t have enough. When I put my faith in Him, God worked miracles in my life. He took care of me and made sure I had everything I needed and more. He’ll do the same for you. All you have to do is have faith.

“In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.” Jeremiah‬ ‭29:12-13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I find so much comfort in this verse. God is listening to you. When you feel worried or anxious, speak to Him. He wants to help you. He wants you to seek Him out wholeheartedly. He’s there just waiting for us. You don’t have to fight this battle on your own. You have a Father in heaven who loves you.
